It kind of does irk me that people, especially on 4chan, always use autist, retard, or schizo(phrenic) to refer to people who are wayward, when I imagine over half of the people who continue to use 4chan's blue boards beyond a brief curiosity actually have clinical SPD.
Besides it lacking sting in an insult, just not being known, or being confused with schizophrenia, I think SPD is so rarely mentioned because most people with it are functional enough to not justify active intervention, and people with SPD are avoidant to self-report to avoid inherently undesirable interaction with others. So it's not really considered a problem to be solved.
