>>59337400Green is SO MUCH FUN! My favorite decks usually mix Blue or Black, but Green is fun in both it's simplicity and it's favored themes... Green is closest to old YGO tribute summoning too. If you end up exploring some older stuff maybe on XMage or through older games like 2011/2012/2013 SP games with mods, there a ton of fun blocks.
Kamigawa, Innistrad, Ravnica and Return to Ravnica, Mirrodin, Phyrexia, are all among my favorites. Kamigawa killed the Mirrodin powercreep at the time but the themes and mechanics are super fun... Mirrodin was just a rule of cool setting where almost everything is an artifact, the lands, the creatures, etc and Phyrexia was a return to Mirrodin but with new kind of mechanics and lore overlords and things happening. Ravnica is duo-colored guilds fighting over a magic city, and Return brings those guilds back and new duo-color combo guilds in. Innistrad was their delve into classic horror like vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc. The latest setting is focused on fairytales and arthurian legend. That's part of the fun of MTG as well... Seeing returns to older settings with new twists and lore. So much fun!
You could see why something with both the mechanics and storytelling could appeal to Rosemi and the severely autistic like myself. And they started putting in more D&D related stuff and other things into the MTG canon, like Mordenkainen that she mentioned earlier and LotR lately.
