According to the Jehovah's Witnesses, there is no afterlife when you die. You simply become a corpse! Life after death only comes to those who they believe are chosen by Jehovah, and everyone else simply ceases to exist.
That's why they hate and ban any and all media that includes the supernatural, especially the re-animated dead.
Because of this, when MJ made "Thriller," he added a disclaimer saying that he doesn't endorse zombies of any kind at the beginning of the music video. This effort did not work, and MJ was banished from the Jehovah's Witnesses, which meant all other Witnesses were to exile him for life!
Needless to say, his life was strange.
