>>90398724>>90401713It's pathetic how worshippers of the Abrahamic god resort to such mental gymnastics to defend such an illogical worldview. The Bible is a text that was compiled, edited, and reinterpreted by the people in power at the time as a tool to consolidate authority; there is no evidence that there is divine truth in any of it.
Either:
a) The Bible is not divinely inspired. What it says doesn't really matter. (Most likely scenario)
b) The Bible is divinely inspired, which would tell us that god is a narcissistic, sadistic, pathological liar, and generally malevolent being. There is no assurance whatsoever that following him is beneficial, we are screwed no matter what. In this scenario, god probably manipulates believers by instilling false hope, only to cruelly take it away at the moment it would hurt the most.
At the end of the day, there's really nothing we can do to rationally expect to achieve anything like "salvation". Just live and let live, and maybe dream for the best if it makes you feel better: an eternity shared with shondo in the deepest corners of hell
