getting pedanti about it before it gets pointed out: the mahabharata is purely an epic poem from the hindus, it isn't a philosophical text per se as something like the bible is also not considered philosophical, they might have different types of insights but they were not crafted to be treated as philosophical writings of any sort. Tbe allegorical method of interpretation is outside the writings, and might even be considered an unlawful way to read such texts because it removes the spirituality as much as it can.It would be more accurate to say ruadh, he did read one philosophical treaty recently if I'm not wrong!
