The point is to illicit a more rapid and successful immune response to said disease or virus, killing it within your body faster and reducing its ability to spread to others while making your symptomatic response far less punishing. Influenza isn't life-threatening in general, but as an extremely rapidly-proliferating antigen, there is a high likelihood that strains of it will spread wildly and cause damage to the body that it's not yet prepared for, causing a sickly individual to be affected for far longer, risking infection to others, and suffering substantially more painful and discomforting symptomatic immune responses in the process.
I know anti-vaxxing lobotomite /pol/ cockroaches think science is some form of religion that only works when their favorite politically-aligned TV show characters endorse it, but you need to at least use google to inform yourselves as to the point of these things.
