I watch both small and big corpo chuubas, let me tell you this:
The appeal of big corpo chuubas is events. Large amount of talents, some serious amount of money to throw around. Kinda like
>>34820128 said, but you can be a more general than that and include things like Holo's Mario Kart tournament, their minecraft sports festival, Nijifes, etc. Overall, things that generate hype and movilize a huge amount of people to participate and discuss about it.
This is obviously, assuming all vtubers in big corpos have a better small corpo/indie replacement (some of them don't).
