>>59309396I know anon, I like that part of her too, but that ties into my entire point!
She talked about having a Steam Deck for 30s.. and then just LEFT that conversation topic there!
Compare to Botan for example :
https://youtu.be/hgPs_r9rh-wShe enthusiastically talked about the technical aspects of it, the specs, display, the dock, the vent heat, comparisons to Switch, regular PCs and Laptops, the feel of the controller etc. etc.
It's just 3-4 minutes split up across the stream, but it shows the audience a lot about her - she loves technical stuff, she's knowledgeable about tech stuff, she loves gaming, she loves handhelds etc. etc.
Back to Ririka, it's only much later while looking at some games, she noticed one and said "oh I play this on the deck.". And once again, she just moves on from that with no elaboration.
That's supposed to be the STARTING POINT for a conversation, that's where you elaborate on this game for 10-20 seconds and show the audience what you like about it.
I won't use Pekora because that would be too high of an entertainment standard, but here's Koyo for comparison -
https://youtu.be/UWSUNN6Gxz4?t=2976She sees Nier Automata and just launches into an entire segment about it, how it was on sale at TGS, how it's not on sale, how she's finished all the endings (off stream), how you should play Replicant before it, how replicant was recently remastered etc. etc.
Meanwhile let me just go to a few random Ririka timestamps -
https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=506> I haven't played Atelier series, but I like this type of RPG, and I wanted to play it.https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=566> You guys should try Octopath Traveler, this type of pixel type games, you should really try it. It's turn based so it should be easy.https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=1756> Persona, I've played until 3, and the rhythm game, and Persona 5's action game.https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=750> Outer Wilds, it was difficult for me, but it was interesting. You guys should try it too, and teach me how to clear it. It's a popular and good game.https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=780> Dragon Quest : Builders, I have this one on Switch. My mom loved this for some reason, she was addicted. So I also wanted to play it, but mom would never give it to me. It's not particularly action paced game so even she can enjoy it.You see the problem? She's basically describing the games, saying "interesting", "good" etc. and just talking like an AI or an IGN reviewer.
She went through SO MANY interesting games that she's supposedly played, but never really elaborated on what she liked or disliked about ANY of them.
The only time she even slightly had more of a tangent was with Slay the Spire -
https://youtu.be/du7xRrF_PVg?t=963> I like this type of roguelike deck building stuff, I have slay the spire. I have most of the games that evolved from slay the spire. You can play on the phone also, highly rec'd.> Not very stream friendly, so I'll probably just play it while eating lunch.> It's not difficult, I've played it a lot, and it's interesting. *proceeds to explain the gameplay*Like, girl. This is supposed to be a game you LIKE. And you're just sounding like you're reading off a fucking checklist or the Steam Page's description and tags.
Pick out something, talk about one of the earlier bosses, talk about how you feel dread every time you encounter the red ogre, talk about a card you like, or a relic you like, like show SOME sort of interest in this game that you've supposedly played!
The JP audience will hear these surface level descriptions and conclude that she's just an e-girl that's lying about having ever touched any of these games (even if that might not be true) because she doesn't SOUND like she's played or enjoyed any of them.
Even her VOD views are in early homo territory.
Hopefully she can bounce back from this, but I'm not very optimistic right now.
