Honestly what is the point of having this long-established convention that joining a company means you need to throw away your previous identity and any association with it, never outright telling your existing fanbase what's going on? Why is this a thing at all?
I'm not baiting with this, I mean seriously think about it. Why do this? Anyone who pays any attention at all can tell who the reincarnated person is, it's easy to find out and most do not even try to hide it. What's the point of putting on a corporate face and a "new" persona when anyone who would actually care about this information can already easily find it? It's like taking a person into the witness protection program and giving them a new house with a huge spotlight on it.
Who does this rule benefit? Seriously, who? What's it there to do? I'm not talking about just here on /vt/, I mean everywhere. Why care at all? What's the fucking point of a rule that doesn't do anything for anyone?
