Pessimistic one is that he kinda burned through most of his ideas and capabilities early on, and now he is stuck between things that are too much for him, things he considers beneath him and things he has no personal interest in, with no real direction to move towards, and debut won't change that.
I think he needs someone else who can tardwrangle him, filter out good and bad ideas and set specific goals based on how much he can actually accomplish himself, and I don't think there's anyone capable of doing it in his current circle.
