Picrel is top row 28 steps and bottom is highresfix after 1 step. Bless that new setting.
Nearest and bicubic are sharpening methods while antialiasing is a smoothing method.
Nearest or nearest neighbour is very cheap and also very bad compared to what bicubic does.
And since aliasing is smoothing the image out you see some loss in added detail(but this could also be xformers so I might be talking out of my ass here)
I think based of what I think is technically correct you'd want to use just bicubic until we'd get other better sharpeners. This could potentially fix hands a lot more when upscaling.
