They treat us like shit while we're in, and more or less abandon us once we get out. I had a friend get a cancer diagnosis, and the VA refused to help pay even a single cent for his treatment. After my own incident I had to lawyer up just to get disability pay, despite having mounains of evidence proving I got permanently fucked up during a training op.
If they can't give us vets any kind of respect after everything we've done for them, I'm sure as hell not gonna respect to some desk jocky officers interpretation of "stolen valor".
