It does seem that her lore is headed in the direction of an existential crisis since she keeps taking the bodies of different people, she's taking their minds too and is slowly morphing from a human hating amorphous slime that steals the bodies of children to blend in easier to genuinely feeling as if she is a human child with all the thoughts, feelings and dislikes of her previous bodies' owners.
