>>37203281>>37203394The way I view it is that for someone like me with crippling social anxiety, you at least have the benefit of being surrounded by (sorta) like minded people who'll give you a chance. It's sort of a training ground, but you have to leave the training area eventually.
The natural downside of it all is that staying in 4chan centered communities can cloud your view. There's a lingering fear that even if you ignore your social shortcomings, you might accidentally slight someone because of cynicism, mannerisms, or what have you. It's probably unfounded most of the time.
Myself and anyone who has selfposted here are capable of doing well for themselves if they try, but TRYING is the important part. I want to do better. I may fail, but if I do, I can still say I tried. It feels suffocating trying to enter existing communities that already have established cliques, friend groups, and vibes, but I have to try. Small steps at a time.
