>>86588891>>86588862>Hotels:My advice for hotels is extremely lacking. Obviously since I live here, I haven't actually needed to book a hotel in my life. But my friend who came to visit went to a Capsule Hotel in Chinatown (there are a whole bunch), if you're on a budget that seems to be a decent option. Also comes with the bonus of having a direct train line to the convention with no transfers.
>Transport: Public transport is pretty good. To avoid hassle, I suggest just buying a tourist pass and googling the fastest way via train/bus to places. Our map is colour coded, with dual-colours being line exchanges.
https://ezlink.simplygo.com.sg/card-charm/for-tourists/>AFA Convention/Hololive Meet Panel:AFA is ALWAYS in Suntec City, a huge multi-tower shopping mall by Promenade (The yellow/blue station). If you're going for the con, you can just follow cosplayers there. The building is kinda labyrinthine with a fucked up and confusing escalator arrangement, but if you go with the flow or just ask for directions, you'll get there.
>Places:Wildlife Parks: Singapore has a handful of them. The Zoo, Bird Park, River Safari, and Night Safari. All are pretty impressive and high-quality, with environments that try to replicate the animals' natural habitats. The Bird Park is a giant aviary, River Safari has fish, manatees, and Panda Bears, and Night Safari is an evening tour. Night Safari is skippable for me now that I've been to all four.
https://www.mandai.com/en/ticketing/admission-and-rides/parks-selection.htmlSentosa: A vacation island to the South of Singapore. You can take a monorail or a bridge from a mall (Vivo City) down South (Harbourfront station). I suggest eating at that mall before going, because the food at Sentosa is overpriced as fuck and for tourists. It has beaches, Universal Studios Singapore, and the SEA Aquarium. This aquarium is the kind of high-quality world-class type that Ame recreated in her VR world, so I definitely recommend this if you're in a particular mood after watching that stream. It also has a WW2 War Museum, since we got fucked pretty hard by the Japanese, so if you're interested in that, go visit Fort Siloso.
Gardens By The Bay: Beautiful gardens. Incredible view inside. There's a flower dome and a cloud forest, where you can watch waterfalls cascade down as you wander the interior and cross canopy bridges. Better if you go with someone to appreciate it with. It's also the place with that supertree grove that makes it onto tourist brochures often.
Chinatown: It's a nice experience walking around the streets and taking a look at the surviving culture from the 1900s. There are a few temples here that are open to visits. Lots of Chinese Restaurants, I recommend Dongfang and its sister stores, because I cannot vouch for the quality of the rest (7 Mosque St, Singapore 059487). Unfortunately, the Chinatown Heritage Museum is closed for renovations, so there aren't any other well-regarded museums I know of.
Orchard Road: Main shopping district. Just wander around here looking at shops and malls if you're into buying stuff and enjoying the AC. Not really a cultural bastion or tourism destination, but it just lets you see what people spend their weekends on when they head into town.
Will type up food and additional places in a bit.
