to allow multiple connections at once. I read somewhere that the max for yt is 2 and twitch is 5. but just throw 10 at it anyway. Also try the capital -F switch with no output file to check what formats are available for the vod. You'll have to usually pick 1 audio and 1 video stream and mux them by simply picking both with the lowercase -f switch. e.g.
yt-dlp [URL] -f 140+299 -o stream-2025-03-06.mp4
for formats 140 (usually highest quality audio-only on yt) and format 299 (usually highest quality video-only on yt)
for personal use there isn't really a need to go highest quality
