They claimed it was due to "recent events preventing an optimal environment" e.g. they pretended it was due to a Lelouch Lamperouge twitter guy making threats or something, but the real reason was obviously the completely untenable sales.
Not only were they going to lose immense amounts of money (they did anyway even with the cancellation, it was way too late), but even worse, they were going to have photographs and video of a gigantic empty theater with a few hundred sisters all crowded at the front.
