>>42740029We spent 20-30 years sanitizing just about everything- movies, TV, internet, you name it- and this is the end result. A generation of kids who thinks real horror is a broken down animatronic in a dark place or some empty liminal backrooms. I grew up with wrekt videos, faces of death videos and liveleak, but those are gone and certainly aren't spammed everywhere anymore. Every movie now has to be PG-13 at most and can't show anything too gory on youtube or TV or risk losing your monetization and funding. Probably won't get better anytime soon either.
