bath time with sonny onii-chan while both of our parents are working late... it's the first time in a while that he's asked and i feel embarrassed at his insistence, feeling more than old enough to bathe on my own by now, but when im sitting between his legs in the tub, resting my head against his chest and him reaching around to absentmindedly run a broad, soapy palm up my skin while i tell him about my day at school or he hums a low tune that echoes off the bathroom walls, i realize just how much i missed the routine comfort. later, after he's fluffed my damp hair in a towel and helped me pick out a nightgown, i sit on his lap, a box of shapes in-hand, and we sleepily watch tv together until our parents get home.
