>>74389696>It really isn't in the vast majority of cases, for the vast majority of peopleThis, however, is one thing that I wasn't shitposting about: namely, that this is an extremely pampered, unnatural, aberrant and modern mentality (specifically the modern west). Please don't take this as a personal insult, anon, because really it's a criticism of the modern west as a whole, and to a large extent it's something that I myself am also guilty of
Despite this, I do still know one thing - for the overwhelming majority of people, across the overwhelming majority of the planet's land area, for the overwhelming majority of human history, combat was definitely a major cause of death and injury, right up there with famine, disease, accident, etc. It's been a while since I looked at the numbers, but from the estimates I've seen in many ancient societies something like 40-50% of all males had killed at least one other human being at some point in their lifespan, and as recently as the 1700s-1800s something like a full fifth of all German males who were born ended up dying either from war, or from execution due to being criminals
I think dismissing people who haven't "adapted" to more peaceful conditions is putting the cart before the horse. They're not the ones who are wrong here, it's more like they're the remnant genetically normal people who are healthy enough *not* to let their guards down and adapt to the new, unsustainable false "normality" of unprecedented softness that we have experienced since the industrial revolution and
endarkenment "enlightenment"
You can think that's "sad loser shit" all you like, but it doesn't change the fact of the matter that warfare is the default, and frankly, evolutionarily adaptive default state of human existence
