>>41959902I understand SOME of artists issues with it, but I think they've drastically overreacted to it has most people tend to do when any new major technology comes along, especially because it's an echo chamber on the internet and artists are a very strange bunch, as an artist I can tell you that myself. The strangest thing I think I've heard said about it tho is that "it isn't art." Artists have been trying to argued for decades and decades that anything can be art. From literally ingesting red paint and vomiting it onto a mirror and selling it for millions of dollars to jamming rotten spaghettios up your snatch and splatting it on a canvas. If that is art, than what an AI makes is also art. Art is in the of the person who sees it. They can argue about whatever other bullshit they want, but I honestly think they'd be better off using it to their advantage than fighting against it.
