>>36467611Me personally, I was memed into it, I *thought* I had a passion for it, I had done some basic coding tutorials and did really simple shit in high school like programming the game of life, hangman, simple 2d platformer, etc... but with all those projects I would lose interest and stop after I got a basic thing going. Then I got a CS degree because "you'll get money because you'll get a high paying job lol"
>This really goes for any kind of creative field as well, if you have no initiative or passion it's understandable no one wants to hire you.Exactly this, there is a glut of new people getting CS degrees so only the ones that show actual interest are gonna get the jobs, the ones that got internships and successfully made side shit. All stuff that you can fake, but takes a shit ton of effort for the kind of self-serving introvert that visits this kind of place.
I'm not pursuing my true passion of music, which is going better than I expected but not quite enough to live off of, hopefully that will come soon but if not I'll just go back to college for something else and actually try this time
