>>7523118>how does spellcasting work in WoD? For Mage? That's a massive rabbit hole. I will totally get into it if you want but it's complicated. I will endeavour to simplify as much as possible though.
For everything else? See:
https://archive.nyafuu.org/vt/thread/4889545/#q4952117But that also doesn't touch on
Disciplines, Mysteries, Carthian Laws, Invictus Oaths, Blood Sorcery, Gifts, Rites, Embeds, Exploits, Transmutations, Contracts, Pledges, Oneiromancy, Haunts, Ceremonies, Utterances, Sorcerous Rites, or Variations all of which would be likely be "spells" in a game like D&D.
I will cover Mage, as it came up somewhat naturally, but the rest you'd have to beg for unless we start talking about the specific game lines they're from. Although with all the Changeling talk I guess Contracts, Pledges, and Oneiromancy are all relevant, and Pledges did come up. If someone cares I'll explain thos too.
>is it comparable to some d&d class? Not at all. There are spells, and ranks of spells, but that's about as close as it gets. Mage is a whole game about playing mages, so it's a lot more complicated. It's also easily the most complex game in the line.
>how's the spell variety?Infinite. That's not a joke, there is literally an infinite amount of things you could do.
