The whole new outfit thing has been a disaster. I don't like any of them. None of them suit the girls or have anything to do with how they act, and I'm kinda suspecting that these designs were made to appeal to the Chinese and gacha audience, and that they're essentially a soft reboot of the franchise. The very fact I'm now thinking about Myth as a "franchise" shows you how little faith and respect I have left for Cover. This is all becoming increasingly sterile, blatantly corporate (yes I know they were always a corporation) and soulless. It feels incredibly cynical and calculated and I pity the girls. When you add the new karaoke restrictions on top of that I just feel like checking out of Hololive entirely. I was never a tribalfaggot and I do watch other vtubers regardless of company, so I have options. But this still feels very wrong, very wrong. Myth was such a superb mix of talent and personality and I now feel like they're bleeding them out and dry to conform to a totally uninteresting, generic and purely money driven way of doing things. It's like they hit their peak when they all started out and debuted and the ball started rolling downhill since then, and the management just kicks it further down from time to time with their bullshit decisions. Council's incomprehensible, unnecessary lore was my first sign that they don't actually know what the fuck they're doing. They're hollowing out all appeal, uniqueness and personality from the girls.
And I think many others feel the same and are switching Holos out for other chuubas. Basically every other girl I watch, regardless of company, is very slowly but steadily inclining. Since here in the West the audience is limited this isn't felt yet but there will come a moment when Cover's management will suddenly realize their audience has plummeted - because they left for other girls. And to be perfectly honest I'm not directing this against Myth girls as such. They're wonderful. They deserve better. They ARE excellent streamers, but their retarded company has been kneecapping and restricting them at every turn. I know this causes you all to hate me but I don't care, because I'm coming from a place where I adore these girls as people but absolutely loathe the company. Cover is shit. Pure shit. They have no idea what they're doing and they're a noose around the necks of their own streamers.
