it's that they're keen to "show Joker for what he really is, not some cool icon, but just a sad, pathetic little man", but delivering it in the worst way possible. Raping Joker out of Arthur is certainly a choice, but that being the catalyst, instead of Harley, or even his midget friend, is just dumb as shit. Also doesn't help that a big portion of the movie is just boring courtroom drama
