They just say that to get you in the door easier, then leave you to deal with the consequences alone. It's inevitable that they will eventually reconsider the idea it wasn't a person when they encounter the counter-idea that they'd be X years old right now if they were allowed to live. They say it's meant to free people from shame, but the manipulation increases the shame a hundredfold. What's worse is people are led to believe they are suffering alone and no one else shares their problems.
This is all avoidable if we accept the truth.
