Resurrected by a mysterious entity after the events of Nova III, it's up to you to travel distant worlds, clear their demon infestations, and uncover the mysteries of your benefactor.>You don't need to have played the previous Nova entries to enjoy Nova IV, but there's a good few callbacks for long-standing fans of the series to appreciate.>Nova IV has been tested on the latest versions of dsda-doom and GZDoom. We cannot guarantee that your port will run the WAD if it is not one of the ones we've tested, and making non-targeted ports work is not our priority, but in theory any MBF21 and DSDhacked/DECORATE port should be able to play Nova IV.>Some of our playtesters loaded briefly into Woof and Eternity and didn't notice any serious issues.>Some notices for players so they know what to expect:>Nova IV gets hard. Like, really hard. Once you're in MAP20 and beyond, you're firmly in slaughter territory for most of the remainder of the WAD. If you struggle with this kind of gameplay, it's probably a good idea to bump down the difficulty to Hurt Me Plenty or Hey, Not Too Rough. Only extremely skilled Doom players won't struggle later in the WAD on UV, especially when going for max kills/secrets.>There's quite a few maps with rather high monster counts. Some are rather deceiving despite this, being finishable rather quickly. Others, however, may take you an hour or more to conquer, so be mentally prepared.>The secret exits are in MAP08, MAP22 and MAP31.>Remember that Nova IV, like prior Nova series entries, is first and foremost a project for newer mappers, and thus some maps might not be perfect. Constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged to help these maps and their creators improve. If you think a map's too long, too tedious, too easy, too hard, or whatever your gripe is, please do let us know - but also please don't come bashing peoples' doors down.
