>>90179534It's impressive how multicellular life evolved. Basically a bunch of unicellular bacteria saying "Hey, maybe it would be better if we cooperated instead of killing us each other", then such cells becoming colonies of several units, then multicellular organisms and then things like plants and animals like us.
In theory, all our cells are still bacteria-like organisms fulfilling this ancient "social contract" protecting the rest of the cells, while our "conscience" was literally built to preserve our life at any cost, protecting those cells in the process. It's all fantastic to me.
