In the end i know strong negative emotions are temporary and distort perception of reality, so i try not to make dumb decisions and just operate in low 'give it attention' mode until it passes, sometimes takes a few days. Sometimes i mock myself internally for seething over something silly, that helps to refocus on other things. Generally gaslight yourself into a more favorable position, not into a worse one.
Other than that - i don't listen much to music usually, but putting something on without singing thats not videos too can help. And those soothing Nade asmr picks are also good. Sleeping will always help a lot, a good reason it's said not to make any decisions or think about heavy stuff later in the evening, you're just more susceptible to negative thoughts.
