During the Homestuck era, you'd have to sew your own armsocks out of tights, which was a pain in the ass and didn't keep tension properly if you went for gloves instead of this stupid shirt-ish thing. Nowadays, you can buy both armsock gloves and shirts premade. Things are just better.
I priced my old set up, which lasted fucking forever, and it's about the same as the $40 gloves or $60 shirt that WeLoveColors offers.
