>>31844240I don't keep a journal but I do practice mindfulness exercises, including being mindful of the gifts I'm thankful for. Whenever I lose something in life, it reminds me of how lucky I was to have had it at all, and reminds me of all the other things I still have.
I always compare my present state to the state of nothingness, and every single contrast between where I am and complete nothingness is a gift. I'm not owed sight, but I have it. I'm not owed hearing but I still have it. I'm not owed a self to be aware of, but I have it.
