So I think this is kind of funny... I'm doing my Anki flashcards which I really should do more often and the question sides are kanji based while the answer sides are hiragana and English. I mostly study in hiragana so here I am looking at the kanji and mostly failing, but when I do recognize them it seems like about a 50/50 chance that I'll think of my answer for what it means in English versus hiragana. That's got to be a win, right? That funny symbol doesn't mean I to me, it means watashi. I am still so far from proficient it isn't even worth discussing, but at least I have that going for me.
