Some of you have never worked a job where people have actual responsibilities and it shows. She's a professional and she's not just an anime girl live streamer like Gura or Haato where she can just disappear for months on end and show up when she wants. She is a high level staff member and she genuinely cared about her work and the company she helped found, people rely on her. You can't just leave everyone else in limbo waiting for you to come back with everyone else having to take over your responsibilities, if she genuinely feels she won't be able to work for the foreseeable future she has to resign so that someone else can take her place on a permanent basis. I worked in a Japanese company where a similar thing happened, a guy's mom got really sick and he had to leave, and it was a nightmare for everyone because we all had our own jobs and had to take turns filling in for him for months, not being able to even do a good job because we are only filling in for him a a few hours at a time each and don't have the continuity to know whats going on. His job just wasn't getting done right until he officially quit and someone new could take his place full-time.
The pregnancy rrats also don't hold any water for me, she dipped out suddenly and seemed very certain she was going to return until now. Plus she has no reason to lie she's not an idol, she could have told the truth and everyone would be much more happy for her and at peace with the situation. Japan also does have maternity options, another coworker of mine got pregnant and left for over a year before returning part time and then full time. More likely something happened with her parents who live in another prefecture and she can't keep her job at cover and work at full capacity while also taking care of them. It's really sad but it is what it is and it's common in Japan, I hope in the future if she's in a position to return to work shed be welcome back with open arms.
It's a terrible day for rain and everyone who isn't a newfag or a seething sister is kneeling for her contributions over the years, I have nothing but respect for her and this must have been a difficult decision.
