>>26354491This was such a treat to read holy shit!! So many things I love. I’ve always enjoyed more ‘psychological’ scenarios like Stockholm Syndrome type stuff with captivity and kidnapping, and so I adore the idea of a slow but gentle mindbreak where Vox is nothing but kind and doting to you. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword as far as you’re concerned— he’s so kind and loving it makes you easily give into him, trust him, and love him because you find yourself thinking “this isn’t so bad actually” and that life outside and away from him is so much worse… you don’t have to worry about where your next meal is coming from or where you’ll be able to sleep here the same way you had to when you were out in the world all alone; Vox provides for you and takes care of you and what could be better than that? Conversely, it makes it hard to escape when you realize how good you have it here— his gentle, sweet treatment of you is a slow-acting killer that breaks you down gently and lovingly. You know that old saying that’s like, if you put a frog in boiling water it’ll just jump back out, but if you put it in lukewarm water and slowly turn the heat up, it’ll stay in and die? I love that sort of allegory for mindbreak; being gently and sickeningly sweetly broken down until it’s too late for you to realize what happened… not that you have the sense to realize it nor the will to even leave, that is! Being taken care of and loved by your captor and lord as he breeds you for the very first time and whispers affectionate praises in your ear… so good!! Thank you for sharing this with me omg
