>>55141992>What's your setup for archiving?I use external drives for storage, internal drives for download and conversion. I technically have an older 10tb that has a portion of the stuff I have now.
>are you not afraid of it breaking down and a ton of data being lost?My biggest concern is always making a backup of important life things to me - irreplaceable images / family docs, etc. That's on 3 different drives and a thumb drive. I also am in the habit of every 3-4 years just buying a newer, bigger hard drive and copying the data before the drive has any issues. I went from 2tb, to 10, to 15 and may just buy 2 external 15's and separate content.
I also long ago bought some blu rays for cold storage. My media machine - what I use to download/convert/stream to tv, has a blu ray burner and reader that I need to put to use beyond ripping movies.
Long term you'll want duplication across drives and possibly cold storage. There's also cloud storage if you're somehow willing to pay for tb's of data, but even then, local backups always. I'm not an expert, just a cheap ass hoarder of content I like that usually gets scrubbed off youtube or streaming services.
