You can always set streamlink to save at lower qualities for your own personal archive. 480p streams are fairly light.

You can set up streamlink ahead of time to record a stream as soon as it starts. Just leave your computer on and it'll take care of the rest.

Use Newpipe and save the stream once it's finished. You can sometimes catch it in time even if it gets privated.
