>>59544187There were two missing pieces! The first is that I had to start over. My last mix felt 85% of the way there so I spent most of my time trying to push it over the finish line, but what I needed to do was just try starting from scratch with different models. Sunk cost fallacy and all that.
The second was is that the models with more western based styles tend to have clearer hair shadows compared to the more anime based ones. So I used an anime-based one of those models combined with one of the toon models and this was the result.
I might need to mix in antoher model or style to get the outputs to be a little thicker on average though.
