But it kinda depends what we mean be lifelike and in what form - physical robot with an AI or just an AI program. What I primarily think about is the future though - how will things look/work in 5/10/20 years.
For example, I don't think off the shelf androids with cookie-cutter personalities like in D:BH would be appealing to everyone. It's about solving the problem of how to make them unique and how to make them the way you want them to be, whilst still maintaining an independant personality. idk probably just rambling now, /swarm/ might not be the best place for this discussion
