>>67179330I'm still shocked I liked it as much as I did. After being excited for it for my entire life it managed to exceed my expectations. It's not perfect or anything. I think it railroads the player a little too often, but once you start experimenting in future playthroughs the game opens up a lot. Just simple stuff like early grapple will completely change your pathing. The main thing that carries it for me is movement. Samus is maybe the most fun character I've ever controlled in a game. She's so smooth and responsive and has a ton of options from the very start. Once you get booster you can just fly through the game once you're familiar enough. It never stops being entertaining.
Hopefully we'll get Prime 4 before the sun burns out. I've always been more of a 2D guy but there's a ton of potential there. Unfortunately, the whole thing is in development hell. I think they're on their fourth creative director currently. At least we might get an Echoes remake soon. As barebones as it was the Prime remake was really good.
