>>17863969The long story?
There were multiple attempts at an Anya thread for months, and its latest version at the time was "anya global" as a shitpost to bait /hlgg/ regulars to post there just to complain that they keep showing up in their searches. It was also during the time other X global shitpost threads were a thing like "pomu global", "mori global" or "petra global". While just a shitpost thread, Petra global attracted actual pentomos to it, for example this is
>>9146735 THE Pentomo or the daughterwife poster in /NijiEN/, however, I don't think he(?) moved in with the other pentomos. When the thread died an early death, some pentomos decided to ask if they can stay. It lasted longer than the separate threads so the meme stuck.

>>11361461Now, for something the surface world isn't aware of;
/trash/wvt/ predated /vt/ and was founded during Artemis of the Blue's debut, the violent reaction of /jp/hlgg/ contrasting with Your Average Rose (Now Kitanya) own 12(?)hr multi-part debut. Since the discussion of western indies was strictly not allowed in /jp/, the discussion was moved to the /trash/. The following weeks, Koopa Fortuna, a then frequent femanon in /hlgg/ subsumed an anon's fever dream into reality by debuting as a vtuber herself. That led to a second incursion of /hlgg/ posters to /trash/wvt/. How is this related, you ask? Well, /wvt/ housed "anyaposters", some melhomies to the thread for several months and had their own cultural mitosis in there. That's where all those Anya edits of various vtubers came from. As this board opened, some of those memes bubbled up back to /vt/. If you watched Ghost in the Shell, pic is definitely related.
There's also the various conflicts(and cultural admixtures) like /vt/wvt/ vs /trash/wvt/, /wvt/ vs /asp/, ties to small corpo threads like /tsun/, the existence of /lig/, but that's /wvt/ history not anya-petra history. But if you must know, /wvt/ DOES have a flag and it was a reference to the (Dutch) West Indies, as Anya-Petra's own flag was a reference to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Unfortunately, I cannot find it.
