>>99721529On May 2nd, 2025, the Virtual Youtuber (vtuber for short) CottontailVA also known as "Cotton" was conducting a stream with fellow vtuber Filian. This stream was performed in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment where they adventured through various worlds and partook in some silly games involving shock collars. At one point, around 7-8 pm EST, Cotton attempted to take a drink of water due to the strenuous activity of moving in VR for multiple hours while talking and entertaining. However, at this moment, disaster struck when Cotton accidentally spilled her water bottle all over her computer in real life, which she was using to power the stream, virtual environments, and everything else necessary to continue performing, causing potentially catastrophic damage to the electronics inside. Most non-distilled water (which she was likely to be drinking) contains many ions and impurities within that can create unexpected low resistance pathways between circuits which can cause components to overload and become permanently damaged when exposed to such unexpected power. Cotton responded by immediately unplugging her computer as fast as she could and following up with Filian alerting her of what occurred and informing her that she may no longer be able to continue to stream. The current status of CottontailVA's computer is not currently known but it may be that the machine will have to be completely scrapped depending on the severity of the spill and which parts were affected.
