Reddit's died like six times, and Reddit's ADVENT is the start of the death knell for PHPForums, just like Discord stabbed out IRC, Ventrilo, Mumble, and ended the suffering of forums. Websites always suffer from user influx because the more people in your community, the less any of them have a voice. It's just more easy to observe from here, because 4chan's reputation is still pretty bad, even if its massively lightened up because too many users grew up or crosspost to Twitter and Reddit as is. Our influx of users overall is low, so its way more simple to track when there's massive shifts.
pre/post SRS Reddit is like pre/post Tumblr Twitter. They're two entirely different platforms, much like pre/post Scientology was for 4chan.
