I guess you just never spoke to anyone who wasn't already into dubstep about dubstep in the 2010s when it was being fused into every other edm genre, because that's all people knew about it, and I can guarantee you that if you told someone to write you a kawaii future bass song with a dubstep drop they'd make you something similar to Maria's song.
