I try to take notes and really push to address the most common critiques which are "good idea, bad execution" and "good idea, but it went too fast." The first is especially challenging to correct, especially without my former editor. I've grown better at slowing the pace of things but you can only tell when something is poorly executed after it's happened. It's a pain.

it's funny you should say that because I have been contemplating a series like Kafka but for adventure-themed shorts for a long time. It'd be a compellation of scenes I liked but have never really found a desire to make a story out of. But so far that's only an idea I've had that I've never put in writing. Maybe it's time to give that a shot.
