How do you guys feel about interacting with other fans of you oshi, for example in chat?
Yesterday I found an otaku term mentioned in a catalog spam thread and it sent me down a rabbit hole to even understand what it means.
>>93079340>That's just how it is with EN fanbases, 同担拒否 is a foreign concept which is why they tend to have celeb fans that gain a fair amount of clout and implode when something happens and triggers infighting Apparently 同担拒否 (dotan-kyohi) is an idolfag term that refers to the attitude of not wanting to interact with any other fans of the same oshi, who are seen as love rivals.
In order to avoid having any two men with the same oshi, irl idolfag friend groups tend to be small, unlike fans of other types of celebrities.
And it goes beyond dislike:
>On September 22, 2024, a 38-year-old man stabbed a 32-year-old man with a knife at the venue of a convention. The man harbored a grudge against another male fan of the same voice actress, and admitted to stabbing him with the intention of killing him.Holy shit JP otaku be toxic.
