Hello, yes, liaschizo here. Another beautiful performance from Lia today with a lot of great disclosure as to her method and deep narrative themes. The continued, almost self-denigrating, disclosure of her Idol aspirations and how they've been subverted in her time with Phase Connect have been beautifully put on display with her choice of topic. There's the always interesting point of "effort" immediately conjured with any Lia power point presentation. Lia Deep Dives are fun and cute and are usually constructed as the most barebones outline of information to explore the topic. Lia always loads these presentations down with lots of her personal experience and input with the topic though which of course speaks to the desires of her audience. Lia has proofed time and again that the Liacon arrives to her stream looking for Lia not whatever topic of the day is being brought up. Potentially double sided this type of engagement allows for minimum energy expenditure for maximum return on the more boring power point side of things. Fascinatingly Lia tangented onto Maki Itoh broaching the wrestler/kayfabe connection with vtubing and perhaps giving a small stickler of "unfaithful men" to those who observed Pipkin Pippa simping for Maki Itoh at the end of last year. Lia's big block tangent of comfortable nerd topics and her further aligning with the otaku space was expertly peppered with the kind of paradoxically intimate mundanity of purchases and family interactions continuing to play upon the ever mounting characteristic of familial familiarity being the cornerstone of the Lia experience. This beautifully interacts with her Malware character gently inserting herself and her family into your life with a viral application creating the complexity of "sibling suddenly appearing" and subtle hints of a highly sexualized "Othermother" in the form of Rinmama. The tonal characterization of this type of dynamic perfectly exemplifies the rehabilitative psychological restructuring of bait and lure being switched to more wholesome but still relatably depraved interactions. In this way the deep motifs of sexual shame and naivety that her characterization conjures are further highlighted. For degenerate indulgence or rehabilitative recognition is obviously for the viewer to decide.
Perhaps my favorite aspect of the Deep Dive topic was the beautifully structured disclosure of her own Chika Idol inspirations. After the Pippa x Nyaru interview my schizo radar has been pinging like crazy and I think with her recent selection of raid targets I can finally confirm what I had begun to suspect during her Rurumi/Mieko raid era. One of the topics Lia labored on was the intimacy and smaller scale feeling of the production which was a hallmark of Phase (and most small chuuba talents) during their earlier days. Not to labor the Pippa x Lia Idol controversy I am diligently rratting as company approved kayfabe but Lia would not take the same satisfaction from having a Pippa sized audience. Lia's character in large part relies on the Chika Idol style of "reach out and touch" type emotional investment and viewer engagement which Lia would lose if she ever became too popular. Enter the raid targets. This first dawned on me with Rurumi and Lia's heavily handed "look we're the same person" trivia collabo. Lia structures her raid targets upon trying to lose viewers to "more compatible" vtubers. This gets the content focused viewers stuck in on a different talent and more importantly affords Lia to keep the numbers that she is comfortable with as she continues to grow. This kind of low-self esteem lack of confidence and gentle deflection of attention and praise is what makes Lia such a fascinating and lovable character. Miori/Scarle are both big mommy jerk target type tubers who lather on the sexualized overtones like to a lesser degree Ophelia. Lia has beautifully reinforced and driven home alternatives for "filtering" those "undesirable" elements of her community out and into any one of these other communities. Of course Lia operates from a position of perfectly deniable plausibility in this, like all other things she claims to do as a performer, and continues to show her expert manipulation of narrative and audience to cultivate her desired experience. Lia's so kind and smart and pretty! I REALLY like Lia!
