Since 2017 there were pngtubers that used models (that didn't move) as their avatar while streaming. So everything that the current EN and JP fandom are going through has already happened in KR multiple times before.

Unfortunately, that strategy also has it's downsides, as when shipping drama happens it's usually much more difficult to deal with as the streamer themselves are emotionally affected. I've seen quite a few shitstorms happen over shipping gone wrong, but yes, it's quite common to see here.
