But, solar energy. without atmosphere, climate, and relying on the daily cycle of earth, solar panels are free to absorb solar radiation to a much more efficient degree. It still does not solve the issues of long distance or extra-solar system exploration, though space tech is trying to explore potential workarounds to the light speed restriction.
