Even if you're a really good artist - making a vtuber model is completely different from your usual work. You have to completely rearrange your workflow and set up everything for the live2d layering. Limbs, head, layers of hair all need to be separate, there needs to be overlapping between hands and torso that allows for some movement and a lot of other stuff you don't think about when you draw your usual characters. If you use blending modes for your layers, it all needs to be flattened into normal, add or multiply in live2d. There's many different factors that affect the final result. Some artstyles really don't blend well with live2d too.
As far as I know Sana was Pako's first vtuber design and the next one can only be better.
