There is no such thing as subtext or yuribait. Those terms are fabricated and invented by the western anime community who, due to their barbaric nature, could not comprehend pure love, the true essence of yuri. They thought of human relationships as only sex and breeding, and refused to the acknowledge yuri as anything more than a female counterpart of heterosexual relationship. But no, yuri is not what you think it is. Yuri is pure love - rational love - that manifests itself in the form of what we call romantic friendship. The secular definition of "couple" does not need to apply here.
You don't restrain them with the human concept of romantic love or friendship. You don't restrain them with so-called sexuality. Yuri is the most ideal form of love, the AGAPE, as defined by God.
